The National Youth Leadership Fund (NYLF) was established to help young St John members to participate in external leadership courses or programs. The aim of NYLF is to assist young members to develop their leadership knowledge, skills and qualities.
The NYLF was established in 2007, after a proposal on the importance of providing opportunities for development of young leaders was submitted by the Australian Youth Council to the National Board of Directors. Following this proposal, the National Board approved and funded the NYLF on a trial basis for three years. The NYLD was highly successful and the National Board continues to fund the NYLF today.
Who can apply?
To be eligible for the NYLF, applicants must;
- be aged between 12 and 25 years at the time of participation in the course/program
- be a current member of St John Ambulance Australia (you can be a volunteer or paid staff member)
- have served in St John for a minimum of 12 months before applying for the grant.
